My daughter has lost her two top front teeth and its been 9 months now, they still haven't popped through the gum! you can feel and see them but they aren't coming in.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar? shes just been to the dentist this week and the dentist said we need to come back in three months for an xray and hospital referral if they haven't came in by then. im really worried and so is she! shes 7

One of DS's hasn't come through and it's been 12+ months, he is 8. He saw the dentist for an X-ray 6 months ago and is due to go again next week. It's there it's just not moving. I'm trying not to worry because I know it's there 100%. I can't particularly help with your anxiety at the moment but I will update after his next appointment on the 12th?

I'd also like to hear from others who have been here.

Thank you! It would be great if you could let me know what they say we’ve got to wait til October!

DS's top teeth took ages. About 14 months, then they popped through and grew extremely slowly! Dentist wasn't concerned at all and said they would come along in their own good time, and lo and behold she was right! They are fully in place and massive now 😁 so maybe they were just big slow growers!

Thank you @Weatherwax! I really hope this is the case! She keeps asking why her friends have came through and hers hasn’t and it makes me so sad! The dentist could feel them and one you can literally see under the gum x

If the teeth are present, the dentist can sort it out even if the teeth don’t appear on their own. One of DS’s front teeth did not come down. He had an operation and a gold chain put on his tooth to bring it down and then braces. It was a palaver at the time but is 21 now with lovely teeth.

We heard all kinds of nitemarish scenarios when starting youngest was5 mainly due to overcrowding and missing teeth, then the ones that appeared were needing others to come down(which only showed up on xray) to give them structure as werent exactly where they were meant to be..i was really expecting to pay quotes of(we're in oz) 6K+ for all this and kept on top with the x-rays and check ups quietly praying for a miracle..bizarrely now asDC is 12 all teeth did show up in their own sweet time and are in position (and all cavity free-the biggest deal as my own teeth are shockers!!)NOT needing a brace-Hope it all goes ok!

He's just seen the dentist, she said that he has to been seen in another three months of no sign or it and he will be referred to a specialist to have a small incision and wires inserted to pull it down. If it turns up he can change it back to 6 monthly.

@MissJJ19 any sign of your DDs?

MissJJ19 · 12/08/2019 16:41

We went to the dentist who said in another 3 months to come back and if no show it will be a hospital referral, however over the last week one of the teeth is really showing through the gum I am hoping this is a sign! Are his gums bulging like the teeth are ther

Similar then 🤔

When she pulled his gun you could see if but not without doing that. She's told him to massage it to help soften the gum too.

His other tooth is fully through now and because his tooth next to it is still a baby tooth it looks huge and it's all you can notice.

Unfortunately he has his DFs teeth too so will inevitably need a brace to reduce the huge gap he will be left with.

MissJJ19 · 12/08/2019 19:32

It’s the wait and see I hate I just want them to come through so she doesn’t go through hell to get them
It doesn’t seem fair on them to go through that :( hope he’s ok though! Did he understand what the dentist was saying needs to be done?

Yeah he wasn't best pleased but she's hopeful they will come naturally.

I'll let you know!
