Bday invite !!

My dd is in year 7 and has a great group of friends in her year . She only knew 2 of them going in to year 7 but it's fairly small class sizes so they have all became friends quite easily and seem lovely .
One of the girls ( that she knew from before Y7) has a party next weekend and she has invited a few girls , along with one girl who she isn't really friends with in school , just in same form . She hasn't invited my dd , despite them doing a mutual hobby together and being friends from before . I know this is really very pathetic but I can't quite work out why she would do that ? My dd is a little hurt but more puzzled at the invite to the other girl who she barely talks to .

I absolutely know not to ever get involved in anything like this and have just brushed it off to dd saying that she probably could only invite a few people etc etc .
Suppose I just got want some perspective . I am normally very level headed but just feel this is really off. My dd even bought her a present / card cos her bday was in the week .
I probably just need to be told to get a grip and let it be .... Wink
