Hi this is a long one and in desperate need
My 9 year old is going through puberty. She is not grasping it and is brushing it under the carpet.
I received a phone call from social services to say the school has made a referral over an incident that happened in their toilets with another girl. They couldn’t give me details but said it was sexual activity. They are now performing an assessment but not about us as the school has clarified that we are great parents who always come to the school and ask for extra meeting as my daughter is behind and we are desperately trying to get her to catch up and it’s working. She was two years behind and now has caught up with everyone else in her class within a year.
I asked my daughter about this incident and she denied it but eventually told the truth and said she told by the other girl this is how you have sex. Inappropriate touching.
Social services have asked me if there are any changes to my daughter life and I said she is going through puberty. They didn’t respond. So I am not sure whether they are going to put it down to that or worse.
My daughter keeps lying and saying she is staying away from this girl involved but doesn’t.
I don’t know what to think or do. Help!
I never imagined that I would have social services involved due to trying my best to keep her on the right track.
