A new shampoo for dd1.

She's 12 and at that age where hair is starting to look a bit greasy after a while

We were previously using yes to carrots but they appear to have discontinued the one we were using and the alternative version or what was available or whatever wa sbt working so well.

Am now trying to wade through others to try and find one that works

Have so far tried a'kin, kind natured, a faith in nature or 2, Jason's, and cantu.

They either leave it unmanageable (she has long thick wavy hair) or it looks greasy.

The Cantu makes it look nice and shiny but it doesn't feel particularly nice or make it look like it's been brushed.

I can't afford to keep making "mistakes"

Ideally we want sls, paraben, silicone etc free as she has eczema.

I'm watching this with interest. 11yo dd has short, straight hair (shaved on one side) and it gets v greasy after 2 days. She is allergic to every shampoo we have tried. Currently using homemade soap bars for hair washing but they're not cutting it.

Its a pain isn't it.!

So much of what I have found iver the years that works for both dds ends up being 're formulated or discontinued or dropped by the websites I use due to no longer fulfilling the organic/ethical criteria etc

And you have to start all over again....

I’m prone to greasy hair with a flaky scalp but I’ve seen such a brilliant difference since I’ve started using Lush seanik shampoo bar. My hair still looks and feels clean the day after using it and my scalp is no longer itchy.

Including some that you’ve tried, Jason and Faith in Nature. I find that Avalon is like a better version of the Faith in Nature. I also like the Aubrey Organics.

Washing up liquid is the best thing for greasy hair. Someone recommended it it to me for my 12 year old. I thought they was nuts but tried it. Omg it was like magic and lasted a week before it needed washing again.

DD reacted v badly to Faith In Nature. Not entirely sure what in it caused her reaction.

A colleague recommended Lush seanik but we boycott Lush so that's a no go sadly.

Might try washing up liquid. We use an eco friendly liquid made by an independent health food shop so it might not have the magic ingredient of a commercial liquid.

Washing up liquid makes both our hands itch so I'm reluctant to try that too.

I Will take a.look through that website tonight when I finish work.

It's pretty tough finding one thats not £££ for 250ml bottles either aaahhhh

Try a lush solid shampoo bar I've used them for my dd but right now we're using palmers shampoo and conditioner.

I looked at the shampoo bars however they all seem to contain sls which

How are you finding the palmers?

£2 from Amazon pantry and the conditioner is the same price for the same place.

However the noughty wave hello looks good. Ticks all the ingredient boxes and surprisingly cheap!!

I shall pick some up when I go into town. Dd2 and I will finish the cantu up.

I like the noughty ones, using the care taker I think it is at the minute to co wash with

I use Wella Elements for mine and my girls hair (we all have lots of long thick hair) it leaves our hair in lovely condition.

Just managed to order the wave hello bundle with the taking cream for 15.72.

Not bad really.

This shampoo stuff is hard work. Oh how is love to be able to by that 1 pound Alberto shampoo and be done with it

Sadly when I had to use it ( well the conditioner ). For louse combing it proved to be a very itchy experience.

Same. I follow the curly girl method but luckily there's some cheap ones about! My hair is picky

Child’s Farm, I use it on my own hair as well as DD’s. Long, thick hair prone to grease. Used to wash every other day now can go 3-4 days easily without washing.

It's great, dd also had a very dry and sensitive scalp and it has really helped.

Thanks Mum it does appear to contain silicone unfortunately . Dd2s hair us about the only one that doesn't appear to be too weighed down with the stuff

God shampoos are a nightmare aren't they... really hoping that this stuff works so sick of this expensive trial and error..

My curlee box (beauty subscription) should be delivered soon and it follows the CG method so will be silicone free etc. Says it contains a brand that's brand new to the UK so I will report back if it's any good when it arrives!

She doesn't have curly hair as such it's just wavy. We would d just like the wave to not look messy or frizzy as that just highlights the stuck at top situation

Makes sense! I don't use specific curly brands (although I have mega curly hair) but I use silicone, sulphate and drying alcohol free so it should tie in with what you need
