Shamelessly looking for ideas and inspiration for a DD who is lucky enough to have just about everything she wants.

No ideas but shamelessly following

one is getting a new bike as the old one is getting too small. thank god she needs a new bike!! last year was a laptop and the year before ipad. will probably replaced the ipad next year, so makes a nice "rinse/repeat" gift cycle!

however i was looking and some zoos do activity days. like sloth feeding £50. thinking of buying a full days worth for my older DD and spending the day with her doing things she can shove on her instagram!

reluctantbrit · 10/10/2018 15:12

So far DD (11) has mentioned three things:

2 DVDs
a pair of texting gloves

We try to avoid the laptop, as so far she is ok using ours.

We hope to go to Longlet next year so I will get a red panda experience and we better get one for DD as well.

We are looking at a new more grown up watch.

Otherwise I assume a kindle voucher, some Harry Potter stuff and bath bombs (or shares in Lush).

WildCherryBlossom · 10/10/2018 15:16

Texting gloves are on our list. There has also been a request for a metal detector. Probably some clothes and maybe some sports equipment. Art supplies are always appreciated too.

DS2 is getting an iphone (second hand). Mainly because its easier if we are all on icloud.

ShowOfHands · 10/10/2018 15:21

DD really needs a laptop for school work so she's asked for money from family and she'll top up using her saved pocket money. She's saved all year.

She also likes books, stationery, sketch pads and paints/pencils, sharpies. We might get her a subscription to the magazine Teen Breathe.

Tickets to a band or show?
Harry Potter merch.
Lego
Clothes
Music

Cagliostro · 10/10/2018 15:22

We are getting a PlayStation as a family present so I may get her Sims as that’s the main game she wants.

Stuff for her room as we moved this year and she finally has her own, thinking curtains rugs cushions etc with geeky characters etc that she likes.

Possibly a gorilla pod for her phone as she likes taking videos.

She has asked for yet more playmobil though, I’m not sure we have space for any more.

Phoenix comic books, probably evil emperor penguin (her brother is getting bunny vs monkey)

Cagliostro · 10/10/2018 15:22

Oh and the corpse talk ground breaking women book too

Rockbird · 10/10/2018 15:25

DD1 wants Heelys as hers are too small, Adidas Superstars and Harry Potter stuff. That's all she's asked for. Next year it'll probably be the laptop as she'll be in year 7 then and will need it. But I'm holding off for as long as I can on that.

What are you buying your preteen for Christmas?
Dancergirl · 22/10/2018 11:04

My dd is 11 and would like Beats headphones. Sounds expensive! Anyone know if they are worth it?

She'd like some new trainers too.

Applejack87 · 28/10/2018 10:42

Hi where can I buy the text gloves that were mentioned please ?

WildCherryBlossom · 28/10/2018 13:25

There are lots of text gloves available. Just google them and find something to suit your style & budget. I got DH Timberland ones last year for Christmas. Quite expensive but very smart - look good with his work clothes and very warm. (Too expensive for tweenagers who are likely to lose them though!) Clas Ohlson etc sell cheaper ones on the high street.

avoschmado · 12/12/2018 20:11

Dd (8.5) is getting an iPad and karaoke machine.

hotchocolate86 · 12/12/2018 20:16
