She is 8y5m and has just started developing breast buds. I know this is in the realms of normal but I feel so sad that my little girl is growing up. She's just started Year 4! She's very tall but such a bean pole (her 4yo's sister's skirts and shorts fit perfectly Hmm). She's been using a roll on deodorant for a couple of months so looks like we're properly in puberty. How far away is a period? I can't see any hair. I wish she could be a little girl for longer.

I started developing at age 10 ish and periods started age 13. I don’t know what the average age is now. I can see at school that the girls in year 5 appear to be much older/grown than the boys.

My period started age 11, year 7. I pray that dd has time to go yet. Off to M&S today to buy some crop tops.

From what I’ve read on here, I think periods usually start a couple of years after the breasts develop. That would make it right for me, I started growing breasts at 10 and AF arrived at 12.

I think these books are about the right age Smile
