Preteen skincare routine

DD 12 has begun to get spots. She washes her face with just water but I wondered if you knowledgeable lot might have some tips. I didn't suffer with spots so much so don't have experience. I'm a bit wary of the clearasil type products as they seem awfully harsh and isn't the new thinking that it's better not to use drying products as they encourage the skin to produce more oil?

TIA Smile

DD uses the Neutrogena Visible clear range (all orange bottles/tubes) since 2 years and she has nice skin, the odd spot but nothing really dramatic.

There is also a pink version but I don't know if it is just a different smell.

Def nothing harsh.

Thanks. I've bought neutrogena spot stress control face wash. Let's see how it goes.

Theres a new brand at boots called cerave. They have a good, non-drying cleanser for spot prone skin and dont forget hydration is also important in gettng rid of spots any of the moisturisers from simple or la roche posay are good. hope this helps x

Brazenly place marking. Definitely need to get DD into skincare.

I have my 10 yr old on simple but might try neutrogena.

There has been a definite improvement in the last couple of weeks. Just getting into the habit of properly washing her face twice a day is a start! 😂

I was going to suggest that the novelty of having an actual face wash definitely encourages actual face washing Grin

Ds uses a foaming teatree oil wash from Superdrug. It’s “blokey” enough for him and I’m happy that it’s not too harsh. His skin has improved no end since using it.
