Random rash at school

Just a quick check with you lovely mumsnetters- DD9 is in year 4 - randomly had a rash after lunch today all over face and body - little bit of a swollen face (I noticed at about 5pm as soon as I saw her) and generally health ok

I didn't get a phone call, teacher sent her to the office, office gave her a wipe as they said it was probably a heat rash

She's fine but she needed antihistamine to bring the rash down a bit (still there(
She's absolutely fine so not bothered but wondered why they didn't think to call us ... fwiw she has kidney problems .... not related but they don't know that

I would have wanted to be called too especially given the underlying health problems. I’d be tempted to send a note in asking why you weren’t told.

Just wondering what she had for lunch. Could it be food related?

Thanks. She had Normal food, corned beef sandwich, apple, cheese chunk, crisps, carrot .... everything she's eaten before

My first thought would be a food allergy. It’s not unheard of to start reacting to things you’ve eaten before. It could just be a random rash though Smile

It got loads worse so went to the doc , it's just a viral rash he's not worried and we can still go on holiday on Tuesday thank goodness!!
