Elder DD didn't settle into year 7 well. Had higher hopes for younger DD. Two old friends from her old school have fallen in with a new group of friends she has and are now repeatedly leaving her out. I don't want to get involved but feel helpless. She invited 7 for a sleepover. Only one said yes. The rest made excuses and are all getting together that night instead. Just wish there was something I could do.

Does she have any other friends? Does she do anything out of school where she socialises like guides or sport?

If your daughter has only just started at secondary school I would say give it time. Ds is in year 8 and has only just very recently started socialising with his new friends. He was clinging on to his old primary school friends who go to the same school for ages - I think it would take at least a couple of terms for them to adjust it is just a bit early .....
