When do I need to get dd measured for a bra?
ColdWaterNeeded · 29/08/2017 10:02
My dd is almost 10 and is developing quite quickly.
I'm not sure what kind of crop tops or bras will be suitable for her as she has small breasts forming.
When should I move her from crop tops to bras?
ColdWaterNeeded · 29/08/2017 13:48
Really? I want her to have good support on her chest from the start. My mum didn't buy me a bra until I was about 14 even though I'm sure I needed one way before that. How is she supposed to know when she needs one? She already feels conscious about her chest comparing to other girls.

I let DD guide me - I bought her crop tops and a couple of AA bras. Just kept the conversation open and she told me when she wanted more.
Your DD is a bit younger than DD was, so she might not speak up. Why don't you measure her - ribcage and bust and then buy some and suggest she wears them when she feels ready?
The fact that she will have crop tops and bras ready for her at 10 means you've already done your bit.

Dd started with stretchy sports bra style crop tops from asda.

As she's already talking to you about her development, ask her next time she raises it if she would like to start wearing a bra/supportive crop top.
This is the best way of fitting bras

What edith said. Also, check out the fb group 'boob or bust'. I used their advice and went from a 36DD to a 32JJ/34H (depending on style/brand). My boobs are much happier and perky now.

My ds is 12 and just started wearing these. I just asked here every now and then if she was comfortable with what she was wearing under her school shirts.

Get her a crop top to start with. Not much support but a bit of coverage for changing for PE etc.
TeenTimesTwo · 29/08/2017 16:57
Agree she should have something now for PE changing purposes at least.
I have been trying to persuade DD2 (nearly 13) to move from crop tops to a bra for a number of months. Finally persuaded her and today ended up with a C cup!
dementedpixie · 29/08/2017 16:58
My dd wears a 30D at age 13. We got her soft cup bras from M&S

TeenTimesTwo · 29/08/2017 17:04
That's what we just got DD2 as well demented
DD1 also used to have them.

Thanks for all the suggestions. She already wears sports crop tops but is conscious of the straps showing as they're almost like halter neck. she says a few girls come and tell her that they're showing which embarrasses her.
I might actually measure her and see if she needs something better than a crop top.

thanks for the links demented, I actually think the very first ones you linked are much better suited to her. The ones you've just linked she already has and she finds them uncomfortable. The John Lewis ones look like they're a bit wider around the neck so hopefully the straps won't show.
