Best tampons for first time

Hi. My dd is 11 and started her period today. She swims 5 times a week so need an alternative to pads when she in the pool. Are tampons ok because of her age and what would be best to use? Thanks

Lillets do teen ones and tampax do lite ones that are thinner.

Tampax Pearl and Compak have plastic applicators and I find them much easier to insert than the cardboard applicator ones.
