underwired bras

Can anyone point me to current research / guidelines regarding preteens and bras?

Dd is 10 and currently wearing 28C bras. However today's measurements show she should be in a 28 D

Looking online many bras in this size are under wired.

I remember being told under wiring is bad for young growing girls but unsure if this is old wives tales or medical fact?

I'm not sure, I don't think they're recommended when they're in the early stages of growing.

John Lewis do a non underwired very plain bra in bigger cup sizes. I know it comes in a 30 back size, not sure about a 28.

Managed to get some non underwired from M&S today, had to go with a 30C as the 28 was too tight on her but she's happy with what we got.
