My ds was 11 just two months ago. He mentioned to me he's had pubic hair for "a while" and I was shocked, I thought stuff like that happened much later for a boy?
He's shooting up in height at the moment too.. Anyone else's ds the same? Is it a normal age or a bit early?

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Puberty/Pages/Introduction.aspx - says boys start between 9-14 years so not early at all

No not early at all 11 is a perfectly normal age for a boy to begin puberty, many are much younger.

My 10 year has them, it's perfectly normal. Like you, I am still trying to get used to the idea though.

My 11yo DD says that some of the boys' voices are breaking in her year (she thinks it's hilarious).

I have no idea whether she has pubes yet or not, shall I embarrass her by asking her

My 9 year old daughter has pubic hair and has started getting acne. I think she'll get her period soon. She's the tallest in her class.

Ds started getting pubic hair age 11. He's 12 now and his voice is breaking much the amusement of the girls in his form Grin (well natured reading nothing cruel)
