Would love to know, age of your child, what box they have and how long/when are they allowed to play.
According to my 12 yr old, everyone has an xbox one (he has 360) and they're allowed to go on them as long as they like!!!

He's right I'm afraid!

Well not everyone obviously - but plenty of teenagers. I've never limited game time - but it's all about balance. My two enjoy their xbox and have also done well in exams, play sport and have lots of friends. So all fine.

If they played to the detriment of homework and other activities I'd have worried.

Oh yes, the joys of an Xbox! My 12yr old DS usually plays on his Xbox 360 for 1-1.5hrs max in any given day. He'd be on it for far longer if I let him!

Ours is downstairs where it can be checked and monitored, though about to move it upstairs to spare / chill out room. But no way will it be going in a bedroom. I know his friends who have them in bedrooms play for hours and hours on end Sad

Same as Vegas. I don't limit, but I do police behaviour and content. Both kids doing very well at school, have excellent behaviour so I don't begrudge them their downtime of their choosing (it probably helps that I'm a gamer too, so it's very much a communal activity in our house :) )

Sorry, forgot to say - ages 14 and 11

My ds had a 360 till his 13th birthday this year...I don't strictly time it, but he does a huge amount of sport and exercise every day, and has excellent school grades (top sets and all test marks in upper 80s/90s %), is polite and sociable, so I can't actually justify cutting it down! It goes off at 9:30pm on school nights and 10:30 at weekends
