I am concerned over my 10 year old son. He doesnt have a huge group of friends and spends a lot of time in his room on his own. he am thinking he may be depressed. He seems very angry a lot of the time. He was in a funny mood all day yesterday, withdrawn and quiet and when he went to bed I noticed he was crying. When I tried to talk to him he would nt say very much. The thing is I suffer from low self esteem, low mood etc and his behaviour i exactly mine at his age. I want to help him so he doesnt feel how I do but i dont know how. Has anyone else been through similar?

I've a friend whose 12 year old son takes antidepressants. He also sees a psychologist every week.

A first step might be to find a counsellor for him.

I would be worried about this too. Could dh take him out for the day and whilst doing something together, talk about what is bothering him?
I would also speak to the school and find out how he is doing whilst he is there, they may have someone he could talk to
