When do boys get hormonal?

DS was 10 just after Xmas. He's suddenly getting grumpy and is crying for no reason that he knows ("If I knew I'd tell you, just leave me alone, I don't know what is wrong"). Surely this isn't hormones yet?

Could be, my ds was 10 early jan and ive noticed some changes in mood.

Thanks, it took me by surprise a bit since my eldest was 12 or so when she got hormonal. I hope your son is not too grumpy, mine has been a real grump and has been getting a lot of growing pains.

DS is 11 and goes through this - grumpy, cheeky, shouty & teary and in the next moment wanting cuddles & kisses....
I fear it's only going to get worse

It'll get better afterwards though :) says she clutching at straws
