At what point does it become bullying??

After some advice from experienced parents of teens/pre-teens please...

Dd 11 in year 7 has come home in tears saying that a girl in her form who is also in lots of her lessons has been nasty to her today & previous day too.. Saying things like nobody likes you, your family don't like you & I'm going to tell everyone about your dead sister.
Dd said this girl is very popular & has already amassed a little gang of followers & turned a girl dd went to primary school with against her.

Now at what point do I intervene & how do I approach it?

I have told dd to try to ignore her & just walk away from her but she said it's not that easy as they have to sit together in some classes, she is also scared of getting labelled a grass.

So horrible to see her upset

send a message to your dd form tutor so that they are aware and can nip this in the bud before it turns into anything worse

Listen to Unkle Adams "I am stronger" on Youtube. (should be compulsory viewing for all school kids..) Then tell your DD you love her to bits and you're there for her no matter what. Then speak to the school, via form tutor is a good option or do they have a specific welfare person who can help? School can help, but the main thing is to help your DD realise she is the better person and bullies are sad individuals who aren't worth bothering with. They want a reaction, and the best thing she can do is not give them one. Good luck..

Yes, definitely speak to the form tutor. Your poor DD. That is not acceptable at all.
