Inappropriate behaviour from 8 year old DS?

Just want an opinion on this. When my DS goes to the toilet in public he doesn't close the door. Both me and DH have spoken to him about it but he still does it. We've asked the teachers at school to say something when he does it and at after school clubs. Is this normal at his age? We're just a bit concerned.

Does he say why? Is he worried about getting locked in the cubicle?

8 year old nephew did this on holiday recently every time he went. He also had to be asked not to fiddle in public too. No idea why!

I help out at Beavers occasionally. Loads of them do it

That's what we were concerned about too divingoffthebalcony. My DH spoke to him about just pushing the door up rather than locking it and he says he's not worried about that.

Neither do I at home.
