smelly feet!

My DD, aged 11, is getting really smelly feet! She's not started any physical development and the rest of her doesn't smell, but her feet really whiff. She bathes regularly, so I'm not sure what else we might do. I'd really welcome any suggestions.

Are you sure it's actually her and not just some vile trainers with a life of their own? My DD's trainers were utterly gross after a term of cross country in the rain and the pong just clung to everything. I ended up throwing them away at a ferry terminal on our way to her grandparents, because we couldn't cope with them in the car for a moment longer.

If not, use Scholl foot spray for her trainers & school shoes & check that she's got socks with a high % of cotton in them.

Treat her to a cooling foot spray from somewhere like Avon and make a joke of how much it tickles when she squirts it on so that she doesn't get a complex. Alternatively, the Body Shop's peppermint foot lotion is always worth a shot.

Don't make cheese jokes!

It's definitely her feet, not just trainers. It's a genetic thing - my DB has the same (and so do I a bit)! Thanks for the tips. I'll give them a go.

It may be a fungal condition - might be worth a trip to the docs.

get it treated pronto - could be athlete's foot or the sweaty foot disease (you stink, i've had it.)

Lucky DD, new trainers (or put Odor Eaters in).

My son (9 years) had also problems with smelly feet and we tried a lot of different things. I've made best experiences with cedarsoles (cedar inserts made from fresh-smelling cedar wood). Smelly feet are nearly gone. I've bought them via internet at zederna, because they are available in kids size. Now they fit in my sons shoes and the stinky feet are nearly gone.

Google pitted keratolysis and see if her feet look like that. Dd2 had and her feet smelled like something was rotting! She had treatment and now has 2 pairs of good lether school shoes that she rotates ( thank goodness she's stopped growing so they are worn until they wear out) and has been fine since.
