What activities do you do with your 11/12 year olds in school holidays?

Just wondering what other parents do with their 11/12 year old if they go out with them. My daughter has always willingly wanted to go out with me for the day, go to the cinema, do a cookery class, go to local cafe, but recently she doesn't want to do any of these. I know she likes spending time with her friends, which is fine, but on days we have free I like to take her out some of the time, so looking for ideas really. I don't have the car much in the week which doesn't help

I hate to be cynical but an offer of shopping for new clothes seems to help.

We do mad science investigations, but then my 11yo and his friends (and me) are total geeks!
How about making something together, teaching her a skill, redecorating her room, restoring a piece of furniture, doing manicures and pedicures etc, having a "film day" with popcorn etc.

Visited local cathedral/country house and do the 'children's tour'. Takes lots of one to one attention but is educational and relaxing. Followed by food treat
Kayaking, rock climbing in local outdoor centres. The council have one which is cheaper than you'd think. Wet walks with the dog. Seems unbelievable but we go to the wettest muddiest location and fully intend to come back covered in mud and soaking. Usually we are the only idiots ones there and sing, dance and generally find our inner 2 yr old . Poo sticks...
Quiet day cake making or a film. Craft.
I find its not so much what we do so much as the focused attention she gets for said activity

Thanks for your replies. A shop trip and making a cake sounds good. I know she's growing up but I still like to do things with her and also it keeps her off consoles!

I enjoy going ice skating with my 12-year-old, and a trip to a swimming pool with slides was also a success.
