Daughter in Year 7 - lacks confidence - giving up all sport / music / activities

I'm been really impressed that my shy daughter has settled in OK to secondary school and seems to be coping socially and in school work. But she still lacks confidence socially. Although coping, I don't think she is very happy. She hasn't socialised outside school with any friends for years. She has given up the various after-school activities she used to do and won't do any clubs at school. She mainly wants to watch TV, which I see as escapism. I'm worried about her becoming more isolated and even less confident. I would like her to do some activity or develop some skills, such as joining some clubs at school or after school. I'm not sure how pushy to be, and whether to insist that she does something. Anyone gone through this?

yes, you have to push her a little bit, can you do something together to start with?

what does she say.think about the subject?

I "insist" on two physical activities and a "social thing" each week.
At the moment this means an informal dance class, guides and being dropped at the swimming pool every weekend. Mine are fortunate in having each other so they never have to turn up at anything alone. Could you identify a friend who could go to stuff with her?
My eldest has certainly been through a phase of growing self-awareness in the last year and has given up things that she's not suited to. (ballet and trumpet, thank goodness!)
I've put my foot down about taking up things to replace them. So far so good...
