Problem with DD eating in public

DD is 11 nearly 12 and we've noticed that she seems not to like eating in public where boys can see her
I can't remember ever having the same.
When she went out with her stepdad and my sisters boyfriend who she has a huge crush on she kept saying she wasn't hungry but was eventually persuaded that she needed to eat.

Do I need to address this? Im thinking of having a word with her DStepmum who I adore and love but would I be making an issue of it.
She did the same yesterday with me and my friend. Wanted to have a sandwich first so she didn't have to eat at the cafe.

Any advice or anyone with a similar DD?

i'd give in to her and let her eat at home, but i wouldnt let her get out of going to the cafe.

this is a really tricky age and with the spectre of eating disorders looming, i'd be inclinde not to fight over food at this age.

If she became vegitarian at this age you would respect her wishes, wouldnt you?

I'd talk to her SM who seems receptive, just to let her know that you arent making a huge issue of it

Have done and she feels the same. My sister became veggie at 7 and we respected her wishes so same goes for DD
Thanks for your advice
