Sudden clumsiness?

Ds1 is 11.
In the last year he has become a lot clumsier. Is this a physical thing or a mental thing that others have come across? By mental I mean his "can't be arsed"/"don't care" attitude.

I think it's a growth thing, they lose track of where their hands and feet are in relation to their body

my niece used to grow, take about 6 months to stop being clumsy and then grow again -and so the cycle continued lol
