But no, they all come here instead. I can see my house been the local teenage drop in centre for the next eight years or so now. Why me?

Someone has turned up now at 8:15!!!!!!! We live 5 min walk from school and they don't open the gate till 8:50. One of them has been round for tea 3 times last week - it's costing me a fortune in food! Aggghhh.

You need to work harder on being an Embarrassing Parent. Have you tried singing old Madonna songs into your hairbrush when your DD's friends are round? Wandering around in curlers and inappropriately short nightwear? Calling your DD ridiculously twee pet names? Having heart-to-heart chats with them about Justin Bieber or whoever his current equivalent is?

CaseyShraeger Oh! Now I suddenly realise why my parents went through a phase of acting completely bonkers when I was a teenager! Didn't work though - my friends still came round for the entertainment value. I cringed but my friends loved it.

I wish it was like that here. We live a fair way away from DDs school and our closest class mate is a strange little girl.
Make the most of it - although answering the door in a see through night dress may put the earlier one off a bit.

Sometimes you do want to take the battery out of the doorbell, but on the whole it's fine. if they do happen to go to someone elses house for a change it seems very quiet.

Wiat until they are teenagers. Sometimes I think we should have charged for baord and lodgings. As for the amount they eat...................

This is starting to happen especially on Fridays, we are handily placed for the busstop that takes the village children back if they haven't caught it straight from school, and blowing all the pocket money in OneStop then coming round to ours to play on our Wii while guzzling a pile of lurid coloured sugar with added e-numbers seems to be what about half a dozen of them do now.
The only trouble is some of them are awful about remembering to catch buses, I've now got the local timetable up in the kitchen and go and shout five minutes before each bus is due to go. I know none of the other mums want to drive 20 mile round trips to collect them
I supply water, fruit and boring biscuits only, the nice ones are kept elsewhere!

I just keep telling myself its good that she has friends. I'd rather this than she was upset as noone liked her.

I have always had this but I don't mind so its not a problem. It won't be forever then you'll miss it!
