11/12 year old bf/gf issues

Hi,
I know that I'm probably being unreasonable to think that I shouldn't permit a sleep over between my 11 (Y7 at ss) ds and his 12 year old girlfriend, but I'm really struggling with the whole idea of it. Other friends' parents have agreed to the arrangement and my dh is as useless as ever (I don't mind if your mum doesn't!!) on the subject! Any advice gratefully received. Feeling like the wicked witch (just for a change)...

what would the actual sleeping arrangements be!!!??????? what kind of supervision are we talking about?

Sounds like it would be a flat no from me for my child and a stern birds and bees talk. Unless we're talking about little more than a innocent boy-girl friend and no funny business possible!

Erm, it would be an outright no from me too! Not a chance.

I would let them if I were you, though with whatever conditions you would need to feel comfortable ie seperate bedrooms etc. It's nice for young people to have friends of both sexes.
I used to stay over at my best boy friends house a lot, though I was probably a little older, maybe 14ish. We'd always share a room and sometimes a bed. Nothing remotely dodgy ever occured.
Once we had a big sleepover of about 12 of us and I was only girl. All the boys slept on the floor cramped up, under desks etc and I had the bed all to myself. They were a lovely bunch. Smile

If it's just your son and his girlfriend then it would be an outright no from me. I'd struggle with them having a boy/girlfriend at this age, they're too young imo. Tell them they're welcome to spend time together during the day/evening and you'll take her home so she can sleep at home. Don't be afraid to be a parent, you're not his best friend.

Surely it can only be a 'friends' thing at 11 and 12?! I can't imagine it could be anything else, although I don't think I could let them sleep in the same room - just in case!

If it were in my house, come bedtime, DD2 would have to go and sleep on the guest bed in DD1's room and the boy 'friend' would sleep in DD2's bed.
