Qualifications

My DD1 is in a small pre - school room at a local day nursery and has a year before starting school. I have had a few concerns about the nursery, more to do with DD2 than my older daughter. However, I decided to keep them at the setting as my dd1 loves the key worker in the pre school room. However, this key worker has been made manager and now won't be in this room and the person she has been replaced with was previously the chef and has no childcare qualifications. I just wondered if this is allowed? She is very concerned about things being tidy and neat and I feel she is more concerned about keeping things running smoothly than stimulating the kids. I am just so gutted the previous key worker not going to be there as I would have changed nurseries if I'd known!

The EYFS states that half the staff in a room have to have at least a Level 3 and at least half of the rest have to be a Level 2. So, yes, they can use unqualified staff. Do you know for definite, that this person has no childcare qualifications?
