Hi,

I am looking around nurseries for my son who obviously as a boy loves playing outside.

Can i just ask that when a child has access to an outside play area, should there be an adult outside with them or is it enough that they can be seen through a window or heard etc?? One nursery i viewed said they kept the door open and the children can come and go outside as they please but i did't get the impression that the adults were always outside with them??? is this bad?

Hi, a good nursery will have a lot of free-flow between indoors and outdoors. Outdoor play should be planned for in the same way as indoors and children should always be supervised, not just seen through a window.
