Montessori Parents Wanted!!!

Dear Parents,

I am a student at the University of Manchester studying for a BA (Honours) degree in Geography. I am doing a dissertation on how parents make school choice decisions and why they choose Montessori schools over other options.

I am looking for parents to interview via email about why you have chosen a Montessori education for your child. The interview is only seven questions long and will emailed to you if you would like to take part.

If you are able to take part I would be extremely grateful as it is your views and responses that are crucial to my research. You can reply either via this message or to [email protected].

Kind Regards,
Amel Wehden

Thanks for your interest and apologies for taking so long to get back to you. If all those who are interested could email me their email address I can forward email interview to you.

Thanks again, you are really helping me out!

PS...hopeforthebest..
I completely understand you asking that. Geography is a social science and as such researchers in this field can be just as interested in studying social groups and human society as ecosystems and glaciation! The importance of a child?s social development and the environment in which they learn best in has actually been a widely studied topic within geographical studies of children and geographers are increasingly seeking to analyse children?s experiences of playing, living and learning.
Because there has been relatively little research conducted on Montessori education in the UK i thought it might make an original and interesting project.

My dd's are at a montessori pre-primary, but not really through choice - we live overseas and it is the "best" school (also the most liberal and the one they are least likely to be beaten at). I am still a little unsure about the benefits of the Montessori system although can tell you my not-yet-two year old is very good at using a knife and they both walk around beautifully with their hands behind their backs

Still happy to help - how do I send you my email address? Tried "contact poster" but wouldn't let me!

Probably being thick . . .

MumofJTM · 24/11/2009 10:39

Have discovered email address in original post.

Confirmed my "thick" status . . .
