Does anyone know anything about staff at playgroups?

If we only required 2 members of staff for a session, could one person be unqualified at the moment but working towards NVQ Level 2? (the other person would be the supervisor who is educated to NVQ 3 level). Does anyone know if this is acceptable to Ofsted, as their website doesn't give any clear guidance on this. Only that 50% of playgroup staff need to be qualified, which is the case in our playgroup but occassionally we would only need 2 members of staff.

If I remember rightly, you can have an unqualified trainee as long as there is always a qualified person in the room with them.

The more I thnk about it, the more I think yes - and it's fine with Ofsted. Unless the rules have changed since I trained!

Thank you Zephyrcat. I am the unqualified person and the others who are qualified don't work to work Fridays!
