Reconfirmation. Small error. BIG consequence

Hi,
I am just wondering if anybody missed the deadline/grace period for the reconfirmation code?
I have always done mine on time, and it’s totally my fault for missing the email. In the last three months we have moved house, I’ve started a new job and had a loss in the family. So lots of communication via email. Nevertheless, my fault.
This minor oversight has now cost me £600 per month!
I have asked HMRC to overturn their decision but they have firmly said no.
I really cannot afford this, I’ve written to my MP.
I am just seeing if anyone else has made this mistake and had the decision overturned?
thank you!

Sorry I only know a couple of people who missed the deadline by 24 hours or so who managed to get it overturned - how much did you miss the deadline by? If you go into the website to pay every month it does remind you on there …. Writing to an MP isn’t going to do much I’m afraid - it’s very clear what the procedure is even if it’s annoying to have to do it so regularly

Yes, understand that. But people make mistakes, particularly when you’re a full time working mum trying to juggle everything. My question was more around people who have had it overturned rather than just highlighting my error lol. Im sure I’m not the first.
who knows about the MP, god loves a trier!

PS I don’t go into the website to pay. All I pay if after school club and pay that directly to the school. I had a reminder email back in December, which went into my junk. So it is easily done.

You might be better off posting on one of the big Facebook groups like family lowdown and asking there, as people having it overturned obviously won’t be very common if at all and those pages can get a better response for stuff like this
