My 2 year old doesn’t like going into nursery and takes a few minutes after I’m gone to settle and comes out half smiling at the end.

the nursery do not update us.

they do not send regular pictures (once a fortnight) and do not keep us updated throughout the day. At all.

the handovers are short and not detailed.

maybe I’m
over thinking? My first child though

I took my youngest out of nursery at about 2 because he couldn’t nap ( there was no facility to nap in the big room) and he didn’t want a hot meal at lunch, he wanted a sandwich, and they refused to facilitate that. So I picked up a tired, hungry child. I took him out.

Is he going to nursery because you are working or because you think he should? My DC didn’t go till they were nearly four and then only for half a day. If you are at home with him you can provide plenty of stimulation and presumably know others with children a similar age. If it is the latter, withdraw him and enjoy his company.

I used to get pictures about every 2 or 3 days but I wasn't updated during the day about what he was doing, I'd get a short handover at the end of the day then a small write up on the app.
