What to do?

DS2 is 3 in June and we are probably going to send him to playschool in January. The one I want him to is the one is older brother went too and we were very happy with it. His sister also went there, but only for a few months and we moved her rather abruptedly, as she and we weren't happy. (Can explain more if relevant.) DS2 is just like his brother and DD is a different child and they weren't clued up for her. I know I should feel if it wasn't okay for DD then why should DS2 go there, but going on how his brother was, out of the choices I do think it is right for him.

What I am worried about is approaching the manager again. It was my DH who went in to say we were removing DD. I have seen another staff member who seemed very pleased at the prospect of DS2 coming. I saw the manager but we were both in cars so she might not have known it was me (and I am trying not to think she was blanking me. at me)

I think it should be fine - there are loads of reasons that people take children out of preschools. Just carry on and be bright and breezy - don't explain or apologise. It will be fine.

(I chaired a preschool for a while - this kind of thing would never have bothered me or the staff)

Just go in and register and act like nothing ever happened.

i would just go to register her and if they mention anything just say what you said on here.did they know why you removed your dd?

Not really. It was because of something they said, but hubby wouldn't let me tell them we were moving her. He just said she clearly wasn't ready.

im sure itll be fine.my ds2 has his name down for the nursery that dd and ds1 went too.dd got on brilliantly there,but ds1 and the nursery teacher really clashed!!!im going to try ds2 and see how he gets on.

I have been wondering about this and are curious as to how people would have responded had they known the reason we removed DD.

Well, if it was a reason which made you doubt their ability to care for children in general, I guess people would be saying "do you really believe things have changed?", but children do have very different needs and personalities, so it's not obvious that removing one child means you shouldn't consider it for another IYSWIM?

Mmm, they were great for DS1 but just did not get DD at all. DS2 is a mini DS1 so no real worried there.

I saw the lady today and all is okay. She suggested we put it behind us and she is putting his name down for September. Yikes! It dawned on me the other day that once he goes it reallky is the count down to starting school. Is it harder because he is my youngest and last child?

I've only got the one, so I'm not sure if it's the same, but there's still a definite feeling of "I won't be doing this again" when he's come to the end of some stage or other.... Maybe when you've known you'll be going round it again with the next one, it hasn't felt so odd?
