I have an interview at a lovely infant school and they have asked me to share stories and books with the children in the am.

So what's a good book to share with children that encourages questions/songs/ etc so I look like a fab nursery nurse

I love the story We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen & Helen Oxenbury. The repeatitive text encourages children to join in as your reading the story. You can ask the children why everyone runs away from the bear at the end of the story, Why were they scared of the bear. Ask whether anyone has been to the woods with their parents, has anyone played out in the snow storm was it scary why? etc.
Another good book is The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler, talk about picture on front cover who can they see, what do they think might happen talk about author, illistrator what job they do. After reading story ask why all the animals said goodbye to mouse the activity could be extended by asking children to draw scary animal pictures. Hope your interview goes well.
