Islington nurseries for 4+ prep

I'd love to hear which nurseries in the Islington area are a supportive and conducive environment for 4+ prep.

Our DS is starting at nursery soon, which we've chosen as a good option for a baby - close to home, a nice garden etc. We are planning to apply for competitive pre-preps such as Highgate (obviously depending on what suits him as grows older!). We aren't keen on the Montessori approach for the toddler years so plan to move him to a new nursery at some point anyway, and are keen that we move him to somewhere that will stand us in good stead for these assessments, and for school preparation in general.

The only nursery who have spoken about this sort of prep is The Gower, which we like (but is Montessori) and we are keen to explore more options. Should we be looking at pre-preps that have nurseries e.g. Charterhouse Square (or will they focus on funnelling children to their own pre-prep?) Are there any nurseries with a reputation for this, or do they only exist in Hampstead (e.g. Clowns)?

St Andrew's Montessori on Thornhill square is excellent and sends kids to 4+ schools.

Thank you! Do you have idea how people generally manage with the 3pm finish and term-time only - do they tend to have nannies as well? I think those timings rule it out for us unfortunately.

We plan to put our daughter forward for the 4+ (Highgate plus some others). She's at Beckett House Montessori and loves it. She's there part time (mornings) and we have a nanny for 1:1 care in the afternoons. Wrap around care is 8.30-5.30 at Beckett House. Highly recommend taking a look, they have an open day in a few weeks
