When to start viewing schools

My ds starts school September 2025, when do I start viewing schools?

When is the closing date for the form to be in by?
Ours was January this year so we did all the tours by the Christmas holidays.
We emailed the schools we were interested in to see if they had any open mornings/afternoons planned or if not could we book a tour pretty early in September.

England? State or Private?

English State schools have their Open Days next term. Applications by mid January via council website.

This September term, watch out for open mornings.

Yes they will start advertising the open days when the school year starts in September.
Is your child currently in a nursery? They will have the information of how to apply.

My son starts Sept 2025 too. We've already viewed one school and will visit the rest this autumn. Applications close in Jan 2025.

My son starts September 2025 as well. We've visited one independent school but looking at the finances we'd be also considering state.
