Kew college prep Vs Dulwich prep

Hello mums! If my ultimate goal is to have my son admitted to grammar school at year 7, which is the better choice between schools like Kew college prep and Dulwich prep? He will be 3 soon! Keen to learn about your feedback..

@Sree19 Not sure of Kew College Prep, but Dulwich Prep is great for 13+ entry (and to a large extent 11+ independent school entry) but I wouldn't say any prep school suits grammar entrance preparation - look at the exit results of both schools and you can see very few children actually leave for grammar schools.

It's not because they don't get in (we turned down a grammar for our choice of 13+ school) but because grammar schools are a completely different breed (imo) to the well-rounded sports and music focussed atmosphere at prep schools. I think you could look at a state or local independent school and then heavily tutor for grammar school entry. Only go to a prep school if you want the sports and music/arts facilities they offer.

@Sree19 which grammar would u consider? and where do you live? I'm in a similar boat. looking at areas where to relocate having as a priority number one excellent schools for my daughter..

@Sree19 : just wondering which prep did you choose in the end? If your son started the school in September 2023, are you happy with your choice?
