Nursery age 3

Hi everyone,
I have a bit of a stupid question
my daughter turns 3 on September 25th next year (born 2020)
we don’t qualify for the 15 free hours aged 2 so we’re waiting till she turns 3

on the application it says they’re accepting children for next year up until DOB 31st august 2020

does this mean I have to wait a whole other year until she can start nursery or can she start the following term in the January?

Hope that made sense

thank you

They qualify for 30 free hours starting from the term after their 3rd birthday. So if your child turns 3 in September they are entitled to start their free hours in the term that starts after the following January.

OP all the details are here www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare including the dates. You need to apply for a code to give to the nursery.

Some childcare settings eg school nurseries only have one intake per year, in September. But the free hours will kick in in January in private nurseries etc.
