My 3 year old girl has had such bad luck with catching every cold and bug going round, she's had a lot of time off from nursery already and I'm panicking of what the school will say. I've only kept her off because she has been genuinely I'll with a temperature and now an ear infection too, anyone been in this situation before? Did anything come of it? I don't want it to negatively affect my child but I feel I had no choice but to keep her off.

When children start nursery (and again, school) and start mixing with different children they do pick up a lot of bugs. Just make sure you phone in when she's going to be off and I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Before anyone else points it out Pre-school isn't compulsory but they won't want to waste the place and could offer it to another child if it isn't being used properly. I don't think this applies in your case.
