Bo'ness to Linlithgow?

Hello there!

I'm new here and looking for your advices please...
My husband and I are moving to Bo'ness. We have a 2.5yr dd and she will go to nursery when she turned 3. My Auntie lives in Linlithgow, she is willing to look after my daughter such as collection from school. I'll meet her after my work in Edinburgh. My husband works in Edin too.
Just wondering would it be able to get nursery place by different councils? (Bo'ness in Falkirk, Linlithgow in West lothain).
In further, how about the primary schools? Can I make placement request for P1 in Linlithgow?

Many thanks in advance. X

I think you can make a placing request for a school in a different council area (for both nursery and primary), but I think you would be very low down the priority list. You should be able to find West Lothian's admissions policy online, but it's usually roughly catchment children, others in council area, others outside of council area.

You can try but very unlikely to be successful. Many schools are oversubscribed and you’ll be way down the list. You’re best bet is to live in catchment of the school you want.

Thanks ladies! I think all you're right, it seems no luck to do that as most of schools are oversubscribed. We recently found another property in Bridgend. This is a village next to Linlithgow. It looks everything is fine but I have no idea of the area. Dose anyone can let me know a bit more about the village? How about the primary? Would be much appreciated for any advices xx.
