My son was perminantly excluded in February. The governers upheld the decision. I disagreed and took it to an independant review panel. They have asked the governors to reconsider reinstatement and outlined these reasons
The irp found there to be no evidence that the governing board had effectively and appropriately probed or challenged the head teacher around the SEND considerations of the child. The panel found no evidence that the head teacher had undertaken the access, plan, do review process (in consultation with parent) before making the decision to perminatly exclude in line with the SEN code of practice. The panel found no evidence that the governing board had sought assurance that all steps to support the child had been exhausted before the decision to perminatly exclude has been taken
They also stated that the panel had not been given appropriate support and advice to be able to take the role effectively and they recommended support in their role.
How likely is it that this will go back in our favour. My 8 year old had ASD and hasn't been in education since.
