I want to get my 3.6y dd something like this for Xmas but wanted some recommendations if possible.

We have a Bubble at the moment but I want something more educational but fun at the same time.

She will be 4 at the beginning of April but very bright. She is already learning letters and can count up to 20 at pre-school (is that good ? I have no idea) so ideally I'd like something that can grow with her if you see what I mean.

Thanks

How about the Leappad/Leapfrog book type things? We had the first one then have just bought DS a Leapster but I now fear that that is just one step away from a Gameboy

Hi I bought leapfrog magnetic phonic letters to go on the fridge and they come with a reader that reads the letter and the sound and sings an alphabet song. It's good because my son, who's just 4 can play with it while I'm cooking and we make small words and write everyone's names up. We've had it for over a year and he still likes it. His 14 mo brother likes scattering the letters all over the floor for me to skid on though, less good.

We also have the leapfrog fridge phonics and dd loves it. She was 4 in Oct and has also learnt all her main letter sounds from playing with things like this and games with mummy and daddy. She gets words games home from nursery and gets thrilled when she can spell a new word. I think its great that she is so enthusiastic about it all. Have been told by the nursery that not all her class mates are like this.

We also had the leapfrog phonics radio that someone bought her which she also loves. Its really cute and great for car journeys. They have all the sounds on it and a game where you guess the picture to match the sound.

Sorry to hijack Tillyboo but does anyone know whether the regular Fridge Phonics is better for a 2.8 year old or the new Word Whammer which does the 3 letter words. I am not sure if the Word Whammer does the basic stuff the Fridge Phonics does as well as the words.
