hello! I need advice on preschool applications. The school in my catchment isn’t great. If I list it as my fourth choice but don’t get a place in any of my top three choices have I then lowered my chance of getting my catchment school because others have priority because it was there top choice or would I still have a good chance of getting it because it is my catchment school? Thanks

The schools do not know the order you list them and it makes no difference to your chance of getting a place there. You should list the school in true order of preference, including a school you are very likely to get a place in, if there is one
somewhere on your list, this can be bottom.

People who list a school in a higher place than you I.e 1st / 2nd /3rd will not get a place ahead of you if you meet the criteria better than them and you dont get a place at any of your preferred schools.

Hang on I just saw is this for preschool or primary school? Pre schools can use totally different criteria and in my area you apply school by school.
