Phonics for a 4 year old

Hi, I'm looking for good phonics flash cards that will help my DS learn to read.
He loves being read to at home and memorises all the words and pretends to read but can't decode the words by himself yet.

Would love some great recommendations for learning phonics in a fun way!

My kids like the "Teach your monster to read" app.

There is a flash card game that goes with Julia Donaldson's phonics series, Songbirds he might like?

Is your DS at a Nursery? It maybe worth finding out what they do. Also, see if you can practise some sound discrimination games so he can learn to hear the initial sounds in words as well as recognise them.

My DDs nursery use Jolly Phonics, and there are flash cards to go with that. Check what your DS’s school/nursery uses so you can do the same system

I highly recommend Phonics Flashcards by Collins Easy Learning Preschool available from Amazon.

I wouldn't go for flash cards.

Try a programme like Jolly Phonics, and read together (lots of rhymes) until you are sure he knows how sounds make up words. It's all about the sounds, and then how those sounds are written.
