Hi everyone im a newbiw here but desprate times call for desprate measures,

All advice welcome.
My little girl has just started preschool. First day was fine but she said she doesnt like to eat lunch with everyone. The next day i get called to pick her up early as she was screaming when it came to snack/lunchtime. Everyday following that i drop her of screaming and pulling at me only to go home and get a call 1...2...3hours later to say come pick her up as shes bee crying the duration and upsetting the other children. The teacher claims she has never had a child cry the whole time just 20/30mins tops!! Please tell me my child isnt the only one? They have now suggested taking her out and trying next year. I dont want my child to be the only one not to go to preschool. Shes stops the tears as soon as i arrive and is happy smiling. Shes goes to dance class where i leave her with no problems and is generally a very social child.
Any advice....losing all will and breaking my heart.

Many thanks.

It’s a shame snack and mealtimes seemed at first to be the trigger for her becoming so upset . The school at least are paying attention to her distress by calling you but to say she is upsetting the other children isn’t helping the situation . How long has she been attending pre school - and was she at nursery school before ? How did she cope then ? Is it a full day she is doing ?
Can she express to you how she feels and what exactly it is that is affecting her ? The one size fits all approach doesn’t suit all children and she may not be ready for a full day where everything and everyone is different to what she’s used to . I remember one little boy when I was picking up our daughter from her first preschool session ( just an afternoon )
Teacher said that she’s see them tomorrow and he point blank refused to return . Said it was boring to play in the sand pit when he could be at home helping his Dad on the farm . He started school a year later when he had to and was a very well adjusted boy who suffered no ill effects - achieved well and was very sociable too .

If she's fine at dance class, maybe try a different preschool?
