Registered for 26 children

Apologies in advance for such a stupid question!! If a preschool is 'registered for 26 children' by Ofsted I'm assuming that would be per day as opposed to having 26 children on the register??

I would I interpret that as how many children per session/day - how many children that space could accommodate at one time as per the Ofsted criteria.

Yes that's the space allocation and not how many actually attend due to staffing constraints. At work they have had issues with parents trying to add days at short notice and have asked for an assessment of how many extra they could take (they only asked for 25 at registration)

Yes, that's how I understood it. Thank you.

Yes. It is how many children 'there at one time' - there are likely to be twice as many children who attend at some point during the week.
