If you work in a nursery, how many observations including photo/work evidence do you do in a week per key child? Do you ensure you cover a point in each area of the eyfs every week/month/term?

If you're a parent, how many observations does your child's key worker carry out every week?

No fixed amount. Sometimes there’s loads in a month, especially if their progress is really quick, other times it’s less so when skills are just being practiced and embedding their learning. I don’t do observations for the sake of it, they aren’t even required. I’m a childminder.

We do a long observation each half term
A photo of a wow moment each month or a piece of artwork
4 significant comments each month, including parent and child comments

Each child gets the same irrespective of sessions attended
