Has anyone on here adopted that's a single parent? What were the steps you took and how did you decide what age was suitable to adopt

Yes! I adopted my daughter in 2004 when she was 7 years old. Now 21 with 2 children of her own but that's a whole other story. You may find the Adoptionuk forums are a more useful place for more specifically adoption related queries.
I am a primary school teacher and I had a fairly easy ride through assessment and placement - just 11 months from initial training course to my daughter coming home. I went through a voluntary agency rather than local authority as they seemed more inclusive and accepting of different types of families and place older and harder to place children.
