Childcare vouchers

I will be giving birthday to second child in October. First child is due to start school in September.

Can I keep contributing to childcare vouchers whilst I am on maternity leave for my new child’s care? Just reading about the new government scheme and we won’t be elegible so keen to continue to use vouchers if possible.

I think you can, but not 100% sure.

Contact your employer’s HR departmeant or the childcare voucher company for the definitive answer.

If you pay more than £9k a year you are better off stopping the childcare vouchers and moving to the tax free childcare scheme

You can.
I have just had an email actually from my HR department saying they will keep paying my childcare vouchers but once my pay drops to SMP but they won’t deduct them from my pay.
So I’m considering increasing them to the max to bank some credits for when baby goes to nursery.
