BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS PLEASE HELP!!!

My son is 4 and goes to nursery at the moment. He has been going for a year now and only now are they wanting to put someone in place to control his behaviour. My son is not that bad but is very determined in what he wants to do. He is very bright boy and feel that the nursery is not giving him a chance!!

How is he at home and what speciifclaly are they finding hard. What are they suggesting ?If they cannot/will not cope can you move him or is he due to start school in September perhaps .

He is good at home although he can have his moments. I am going to be moving him soon as I have just moved house. My son doesnt start til January full time. They find he can have outbursts if he doesnt get his own way by shouting and throwing himself on floor. I think all kids do that from time to time. They say about him standing up when a story is being read as he doesnt listen properly this is why maybe bacause I'm his mum am always gonna protect my little boy lol... don't know where to go from here

Sounds like you need ot have a quiet one to one with the manager to specifically find out what the problems are and agree a strategy (perhaps stickers or similar) which you can also use at home if needs be.

Don't let anyone label your son as difficult, unless he has a medical problem, the problem is with them not tailoring their schooling to his needs. All children are different and some get bored with just sitting and listening to some dull tale. All children get frustrated at not getting what they want - hey! even adults too! I was told my son does not like to sit in the circle like he'd killed someone - it affected my mood and I acted cross with him. Then I checked myself and asked if they had not told me this would I have been upset with him like he did something? The answer was No. I spoke to the nursery and they agreed to work closer to what suited him instead of just following some script for all the kids.
