Son starting school in September :-(

Hi all,
My son starts school in September and I'm really not coping with the thought of it. It makes me cry every time I think about it.
I feel so silly, he's been going to Nursery for 3 days a week since he was 8 months old 9-5, this has since changed to 4 days a week, 9-3 to allow him to transition to more time out of the house.

I already feel guilty for working, but needs must.

Did anyone else feel like this?

I obviously haven't shown my emotions in front of my son, as I don't want him to pick up on my vibes and be scared of going to school!

Wish I didn't feel so sad!! SadSad xx

Can you unpick why you feel this way?
I was expecting you to say that he was at home all day with you, but, as you have been used to going to work and him going to Nursery, from your pov, I can't see why this is that much of a change ?

Flowers It's tough. Each stage is another phase of them getting older and growing up. It's not a bad thing but it is another step along. It's natural to worry especially as it is a big change. Go and familiarise both you and your DS with the new surroundings. Talk about it positively and try not to show how worried you are. There will probably be part of a day set aside for your DS to spend time with his new class and meet his new teacher before the official start day.
